Expect major delays on northbound Interstate 71/75 on the lower deck of the Brent Spence Bridge as the morning commute begins Thursday.

Joshua Baker led Covington police on a chase along I-75 near the 275 exit, culminating in a dramatic scene on the bridge. Police said Baker crashed into two vehicles and attempted to steal one before climbing over the side of the bridge. He hid in the girders for four hours before being apprehended.

A pursuit began as the driver, later identified as Joshua Baker, 38, of Cincinnati, fled from officers north on I-75 and across the Brent Spence Bridge. Police said he lost control and crashed into two other cars on the lower deck of the bridge.

Kenton County dispatchers confirmed the shutdown on the Brent Spence Bridge started as a police pursuit on I-75.

Traffic across the Brent Spence Bridge came to a halt Monday as police worked to free a man who wedged himself underneath the bridge during a pursuit.

Police said the suspect lost control of their car, crashing into two other vehicles on the northbound deck of the Brent Spence Bridge at around 4:45 p.m Monday. The man got out of his car, climbed over the side of the bridge and hid in the support beams underneath for several hours.
