Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark is doubling down on his preference for staying with only five automatic qualifiers if the College Football Playoff does expand to 16 teams as many expect after this season.

FRISCO — Throughout the offseason, Brett Yormark has emphasized the Big 12’s preference for a 5+11 format for the College Football Playoff. He doubled down to open Big 12 Media Days on Tuesday.

The format Yormark believes is best for the sport stands in direct opposition to what the Big Ten has proposed.
