A source tells PEOPLE exclusively that “nothing happened” between Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek after fans believe the pair had a tense interaction at the Balenciaga fashion show on Sept. 30 based on a viral video.

Actresses Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek have been making headlines again. A viral clip has surfaced showing the two involved in a mild altercation during Paris Fashion Week in September 2024.The incident occurred while they were posing for photographers alongside singer Katy Perry.

But Kidman pushed Hayek’s arm away and turned her attention toward Perry, 39. Hayek, whose husband François-Henri Pinault owns Balenciaga, had a tense look on her face after the awkward exchange with Kidman, who is a brand ambassador for the company. After greeting Perry, Kidman briefly exchanged a few words with Hayek.
