Bellano is a comune and historic small town on the eastern shore of Lake Como in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located at northern outlet of the Valsassina. Bellano is positioned at the foot of the Grigna mountains and features stunning views of the surrounding lakes and hills. The village is part of the Valsassina Valley, which offers a variety of natural attractions and hiking trails, including the 68 km Sentiero del Viandante, an ancient road now used as a hiking trail on the eastern shore of Lake Como. A section of this route connects Bellano to Varenna via the Castello di Vezio.
