Heard so much "talk" about this cruise... Couldn't book too far out as we didn't know exactly when we'd be in Valdez... We took a chance and got lucky (the 4 of us) and booked a few days before we…Full review by EagleOma

Was expecting a nice relaxing cruise but got a captain that took chances in rough waters to get extremely close to the rocks to view sea lions. Very uncomfortable and just wanted to return to port. …Full review by 819christinekz

Q:
Hello, how close do you actually get to the face of the glacier and how tall is it from sea level looking up at it?
A:
So right up to it. About a ¼ mile. I think it’s maybe 150-200 high and maybe a few miles long. You can’t take one picture of it it’s too long. It’s amazing. So much better than Meares …

I'm sorry I don't recall the menu choices because I brought a sandwich for us but I did have the chowder and something to drink. Also, I don't have dietary constraints so I wouldn't be concerned about something to eat again. The choices were good. The other answers all seem accurate. But this is definitely an amazing tour that we would do again.

Definitely warm layers if you’re from the South as we are. It can be very cold, especially outside. Binoculars are great. If you want to pack food/drinks, you can, but we found prices extremely reasonable. $1.50 for drinks, cocoa, coffee, water. A Captain’s special (hot dog, drink, and a bag of chips) was around $5. They also bake fresh brownies and muffins for about $1. A “cup-o-noodles” was $2.50. They also offered chili and chowder. Not sure of price. They also have a place to recharge phones or iPads, but it’s inside, so if you have extra battery, you may want to bring it. Our tour day was 9 hours. Hope this helps!
Q:
Is it an unrealistic expectation to see the ice falling on the tour. What animals could I expect to see close up in July?
A:
You will see glacier calving. It may be large or small; most likely small. you will see otters, sea lions, orcas, puffins

Q:
During tour, it mentions visit to chapel; is this just a photo stop or is there service while there?
A:
On Sunday there is a church service on board. Lulu Belle is called the chapel of the seas for that reason. No actual chapel is visited.
