Ascoli Piceno is a comune and capital of the province of Ascoli Piceno, in the Italian region of Marche. The town lies at the confluence of the River Tronto and the small River Castellano and is surrounded on three sides by mountains. Two natural parks border the town, one on the northwestern flank and the other on the southern.
