Amazing collection of native species. There are lots of trails, most are groomed. The map is excellent. This garden is 80 years old and the natural landscape is wonderful. Not your average specimen h…Full review by dorothym683

One of my favorite places in all of Santa Barbara. Every plant and tree is native to California, it’s beautifully laid out and well maintained and you’re far from any hustle and bustle. The redwoods …Full review by A_So_Cal_Local

The Botanic Garden is closed on Christmas Eve [12/24] however they are open on the 23rd from 9-5p. The trails are relatively short, being less than a half mile each. There is a half dozen different trails so if you are interested in a short walk, you could spend a half hour doing a trail or two. If you have more time, maybe 2-3 hours depending on your pace. it's a beautiful place, spend as much time as you can.
Do you still have a lot of the poppies still in full bloom. I can’t find the info on the website. About a week ago you posted incredible views...wanted to know if it’s looking about the same before we drive up there! Thank you!

Why not phone the garden? They’ll be able to give you an accurate answer in real time.
Planning to visit at beginning of October. What types of blooms and foliage may we see?

as another traveler said, this is more of a natural landscape though it is planted. This is the dry season so you will probably see plants that bloom in late summer in semi-dessert conditions but also wetter ones. It is worth the visit. the little redwood grove can be cool even n summer. Parking is pretty limited so plan your visit - a cool morning walk would be good. midday can be pretty hot. they are open 9am-6pm There is a link on their website that says what's blooming by season.
